Why a mitt matters for vitiligo
With vitiligo, the goal is not an all-over tan – it is to reduce the contrast between white patches and the surrounding skin. Applying by hand often leaves darker fingerprints, uneven patches and stained palms. A velvet mitt distributes a thin, even layer and makes it easy to blend the border of each patch so the result looks natural rather than painted on.
How to use it
Put the mitt on your hand with the thumb in the thumb section for maximum control.
One or two pumps of Vitistop Self-Tanning Mousse are usually enough for a forearm or lower leg. Thin layers look more natural than one heavy layer.
Work in small circular movements mainly over the depigmented area – the guide colour shows you exactly where you have applied it.
With the little product left on the mitt, gently blend outwards onto the surrounding pigmented skin to avoid a visible line.
After use, rinse the mitt in lukewarm water with a little mild soap and leave it to air-dry – ready for next time.
